This program will focus on the bottlenose dolphins and whales that inhabit the Delaware Bay and Atlantic Ocean off New Jersey. Using photo identification, marine mammals can be recognized by their natural markings and added to catalogs that help researchers better understand their movement patterns, migration, health and social structure. Learn how dedicated surveys and long-term monitoring efforts are being used to study them, the threats they face, as well as how responsible ecotourism supports research, education and conservation helping us better protect the marine mammals that call our region their seasonal home.

Presenter: Melissa Laurino, Research Director and Master Captain, Cape May Whale Watch & Research Center and Cape May Marine Mammal Research Center
